How do I get to your beautiful shop?

Westcott & Williams is easy to reach whether you're travelling by car, train, bus or on foot.

By Car
Dorking is easily accessible via the A24 and A25, with several public car parks located within a short walk of the shop.

By Rail
Dorking is served by three railway stations with regular services from London, Guildford, Redhill and the surrounding areas.

On Foot
We're located in the heart of Dorking's historic Antiques Quarter, making us an ideal stop while exploring the town.

What is Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and how do I use it?

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® is a versatile decorative paint designed specifically for furniture, cabinets, walls and home accessories.

One litre covers approximately 13 square metres, enough for many furniture projects, and in most cases there is no need for sanding or priming before painting.

Simply stir the paint thoroughly before use, then apply with a quality paintbrush. If required, a small amount of water can be added to adjust the consistency.

To protect your finish, Annie Sloan Soft Wax or Lacquer can be applied depending on the project.

If you're new to Chalk Paint, we're always happy to offer advice in-store or help you choose the right products for your project.

Do I need experience to use Annie Sloan Chalk Paint?

Not at all.

One of the reasons Annie Sloan Chalk Paint is so popular is that it's incredibly beginner-friendly. Many of our customers are painting furniture for the very first time.

If you'd like a little extra confidence, our workshops will teach you everything you need to know, from basic furniture painting techniques through to decorative finishes and colour mixing.

Do you offer Annie Sloan workshops?

Yes. As an Annie Sloan Flagship Store, we run a variety of hands-on workshops throughout the year, including:

If you'd rather leave the painting to an expert, we offer a bespoke furniture painting commission service.

We'll work with you to choose colours, finishes and techniques that suit both your furniture and your home, creating a beautifully transformed piece you'll enjoy for years to come.

The owner of Westcott & Williams is also called Annie, which often causes a little confusion!

While she's not Annie Sloan herself, Annie is proud to be an Annie Sloan Flagship Store stockist and was personally trained in Annie Sloan techniques. She is passionate about helping customers discover the possibilities of Chalk Paint and sharing that knowledge through workshops, advice and inspiration.

And yes, she still smiles every time someone asks!

Yes. Many of our products are available for Click & Collect from our Dorking store. Simply place your order online, and we'll let you know when it's ready to collect.
